An estimated cyclone is supposed to appear in the northwest India and is expected to make a landfall in the next 24 hours. Almost 6million people could be affected by this cyclone.
On Wednesday one of India’s home ministry said that “Almost 300,000 people have been evacuated in 700 shelter homes, also the schools and colleges in those places are closed till Friday said the officials.
Almost 39 National Disaster Response Force have been distributed with each containing about 45 people, to help local authorities with evcuation. The army has 34 teams on stand-by.Tropical Cyclone Vayu formed Monday and strengthened on Tuesday into a hurricane-strength tropical cyclone in the Arabian Sea. As of late Tuesday, the forecast from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center calls for a landfall intensity of 175 kilometers per hour (110 mph), which would make it equal to a borderline Category 2 to 3 hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean.
The cyclone is said to have a speed of 120 kph, this could potentially be one of the most dangerous cyclone faced by India in decades. It’s time duration from the previous cyclone fani is about 1 month. On Wednesday, tropical storm vyau is said to pass at the speed of 200kph in Mumbai and later on create a landfall in Gujarat on Thrusday.
This is the another biggest cyclone India will be facing this month previous being the Fani cyclone. Fishermen were warned about the upcoming storm that was travelling to north India. This is possibly the biggest storm after the 1998 storm in India.
